Seria Nicole Bogner??
"Dear Tarja,"
Those two words which started the biggest dramatic decision of Nightwish career herald the End of an Era, and the content of that open letter from Tuomas, Jukka, Emppu and Marco is now well known to all fans of Nightwish.
Now that the shock of Tarja Turunen being asked to leave the band to pursue her own classical singing career, fans all over the world are speculating and wondering who will be the female singer that will don the power than any Nightwish member wield.
We at Oceansouls of America are advancing the theory of Nicole Bogner, ex-vocalist of Visions of Atlantis, as the possible replacement of Tarja Turunen.
For those not familiar with her amazing talent and work for Visions of Atlantis, we would urge you to download the audio sample and the video of the song available at:
http://www.visionsofatlantis.com/english/download.htm
Give it a listen.
On the respected metal website Metal Storm, the reviewer known as Malcolm in his review of Vision of Atlantis' Cast Away album stated that "Nicole’s voice is so freaky close to what Tarja’s voice used to be, when she sung Operatic; it’s from time to time very hard to hear any difference between Nicole and early Tarja."
Give the song available for download another listen. Watch the video now. If you have the albums of Visions of Atlantis, give it a listen, and especially the following tracks: Send me a Light, Cast Away, The quest, Lost, Lovebearing Storm, Seduced Like Magic and admire how wonderful that alto voice would be with Tuomas' powerful lyrics and the combined music of Nightwish supporting it.
To come back to the open letter that announced the break of Tarja from Nightwish, We will bring to attention the following points, and show why Nicole Bogner would be the best fit inside the Nightwish spirit.
"We were never bothered by the fact that you didn`t participate in writing/arranging songs, you never in 9 years came to rehearse the songs with us before going to the studio. Not the fact that while on tour you always wanted to fly, separately from us with your husband. Not the fact that you are an undisputable front image of the band.
We accepted and felt ok about everything except greed, underestimating the fans, and breaking promises. It was agreed by the five of us that Nightwish would be the priority in everything that we do during 2004-2005. Still so many things were more important to you. The ultimate example being the already sold-out show in Oslo, which you wanted to cancel because you needed to rehearse for your solo concerts, meet frieds and go to the movies. Those were the words Marcelo used in an e-mail explaining the cancellation. This being just one example of so many. I couldn`t think of a worse way of being selfish and dismissing our fans.
Nightwish is a way of life and a job with many obligations. To each other and to the fans. With you we can`t take care of those duties anymore."
Nicole Bogner has gone on record numerous times stating that "Nightwish are close friends of ours and we have played with them before."
This statement of friendship with Nightwish from Nicole, coupled with the fact that Visions of Atlantis was mentioned in the Century Child booklet defines a strong link between the members of VoA and the members of Nightwish.
Century Child Booklet: "Thanks: (...) Edenbridge, Visions Of Atlantis (...)
Tuomas has stated that Nightwish is an emotion, and that without a strong sense of friendship it would not exist. Replacing Tarja Turunen by someone close to all the bandmembers would make sense for the sensitive soul that is Tuomas Holopainen?
On touring, Nicole in an interview with Soundcheck Music Reviews and said that "We have experienced much success with our concerts in each country. The only problem was the bad virus we had on board [the tour bus] and everyone got sick. For me and Simone [Simons, Epica's vocalist] it was very hard to keep our voices intact. But we still had lots of fun!"

Obviously in the above quote, Tuomas has stated that touring and being with their fans is part of the Nightwish way of life, and picking someone who loves touring and meeting fans from all around the world makes her more attractive in our eyes to replace Tarja Turunen.
Then comes the recent words from Tarja Turunen on YLE and her comment about Tuomas.
"Nightwish WILL continue their heavy music career in future too, and with a female vocalist. Tuomas comments that he doesnt want to reveal the name of new vocalist yet. But he says he has composed already few new songs for the next album. There will be a mix of some new and old Nightwish."

Tuomas has had to think about this for a long time, because arranging lyrics have to be done for a particular person, and he obviously wrote them with someone in mind, and there's where Nicole Bogner comes in.
On the Visions of Atlantis website the latest news headline dating from October 10th, less than two weeks before Tarja Turunen was asked to leave comes this posting:
"Nicole Bogner is to leave the band with immediate effect. Due to the changes in her personal and professional life, Nicole Bogner & Visions of Atlantis have decided to go separate ways from now on. The split with the female singer happened in friendship, and VoA want to thank Nicole for everthing she has done with and for the band."

Changes in her professional life, and she happens to leave in friendly terms with the band. Seeing that Visions of Atlantis are good friends of Tuomas, it would not be far fetched to think that Tuomas had come to them and asked if it would be okay if he offered Nicole the female vocalist spot for Nightwish. Being friends and themselves fans of Nightwish's music, giving one of their own a chance to be a part of something that big and wonderful could only gather one answer, a powerful YES from everyone in Visions of Atlantis.
We will see soon who the remaining members of Nightwish announces as the replacement, but here's one thought thrown out to the fans, Nicole Bogner.
Here are just some thoughts from our members on the possible replacement:
Fulorian: Nicole Bogner amicably parted ways with Visions of Atlantis just 2 weeks ago. Coincidence? Or pre-arranged for her to take Tarja Turunen's spot? We know VoA has been very good friends with Nightwish for at least 3 years (they're even credited in Century Child), and she has a fairly similar vocal style, with an even more distinct voice.
Nyghtfall: I never even heard of VoA until now. After watching the video for Lost, I'm thinking Nicole would go very well with Nightwish. Very, very well indeed. She looks very personable, seems to have great stage presence, and I can very easily hear her even performing Nightwish classics.
Cloud: Nicole, ex-Visions Of Atlantis. She's perfect.
StormBird: Man, that is a fantastic idea. I was recently expressing at another forum my huge disappointment at her leaving VOA. Yes, she would be the perfect choice.
